Default 10/25 update and DoT AoE spells...

I'm kind of curious on how elementalists will view DoT AoE spells such as Firestorm, Maelstrom, Eruption, etc. in PvE. Since everything that does AoE damage can possibly, but won't necessarily cause enemy scatter I'm wondering if people will be more accepting of these types of spells in PvE or if people will try to avoid all AoE damage altogether. My hopes and guess is that the former will occur which would be nice since Geomancers may be able to play a stronger role in PvE and water snare eles may may be beneficial to groups.

they enemy doesn't seem to flee as bad, but they also said they won't all clump together.

I've been using them. I figure they'll scatter anyway, so might as well play around with the DoT spells.

I didn't notice any change for meteor shower.

However, when enemy is low on health, they would scatter even with a fireball.

On the other hand... flame trap scatters too! O.o

HA! Now everyone know the pain of an ele!! (when the first AoE "buff" hit)

I've actually found MS to be even worse than before. By the time you've finished with the 5 second cast, everything has moved. Searing heat and Teani's heat have been VERY effective. Cast both then top it off with a fireball and pretty much everything will die.

If you're using slow-casting spells like MS, I suggest packing a HCT wand AND Focus...

32% chance to HCT
4% chance to QUARTER Casting Time.

QCT Meteor Shower is absolutely UBER, but HCT ain't bad, either.
